Great Britain

August 16, 1997 - August 31st, 1997

This year for my vacation I went to the British Isles. Why? Never been there before! Also this year I wanted to go somewhere where most people speak English (as opposed to American). When I was done I had a boatload of postcards and thirteen rolls of film. This was also the longest vacation I've ever taken: a solid two weeks, travelling 1738 miles. You can see my travel itinerary at right: practically the only part of Great Britain I didn't hit is Northern Ireland, and a good thing too from what I've heard about the place. Some towns I definitely needed a full two weeks just to explore, especially Edinburgh and London. The London Underground takes you everywhere. Maybe someday I'll take the Chunnel into France for another visit...
